I teach in an under-resourced, government school in Mumbai. These schools are for any and all children from low-income backgrounds. As you may already be aware, there are very few schools for children with disabilities and they are quite expensive. Since under-privileged people cannot afford these schools, they end up sending students with special needs to mainstream schools.
In my classroom, 7 out of my 18 students are currently at a disadvantage owing to varying forms of disability.
I have seen some of these students show tremendous improvement because they use an iPad app and sometimes because of the individual attention I’m able to give them. However, it is not always possible for me to give these students the attention they need.
I can change this by using Zaya’s Lab Kit. It would allow me to cater to the needs to the students with learning disabilities. Zaya’s Lab Kit includes tablets for all my students which would keep them engaged and make things visually appealing for them. Through their ClassCloud device, I would be able to customise a lesson as per each child’s needs and then monitor it effectively to see what they are struggling with.
