Not a head count, not a list of roll numbers and definitely not batch of products to be manufactured- The 27 students of the fifth standard of our school – Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya No.1, Mori Gate represent 27 stories- each one as indispensable as the other and carrying the potential to capture the world with their tales.
With all its diversity- in terms of income, background, culture- that attempt to learn together that the kids and teachers together make every day is nothing less than magic. With most of the students coming from a low-income background, a lot of them lacking the basic necessities- each student has at least one valid excuse to discontinue his/her education and yet the attempt is made- every day by everyone.
There are failures- quite a lot actually- and yet there are more than enough tales to keep us going. Take Mona and Deepa- two girls who just could not get themselves to express in any manner but have completely transformed into active participants of the class. It might look like a small thing but only the ones who saw these persistently make efforts every day to overcome their own self could tell you the value of every answer they give in class.
Well, that’s a small glimpse into the seemingly small and yet very significant world of ours.
We, at Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya No.1, Mori Gate, are looking to create a digital classroom for our 5th graders.
The reason is simple- It will help further our cause of making sure that our students- who are economically backward, fight rather than giving into this limitation. Also, there is no doubt about the fact digital education is the need of the hour.
Help us build a digital path for our 5th-grade kids as a way out of illiteracy.
